Can my friends on Xbox, PlayStation or Switch join?

No. Mojang's help center says console versions of Minecraft are limited to the featured servers, so Xbox, PlayStation and Switch cannot add a server by its address. Friends on phones, tablets or Windows join with the address and the port the panel shows.

How do I stop strangers from joining?

Turn on the allowlist from the Players page and add the gamertags of your friends. Anyone not on the list is refused at the door, and you can add or remove names while the server is running.

Can I use add-ons, behaviour packs or resource packs?

Yes. Upload the packs to the behavior_packs and resource_packs folders with the file manager and list them in the world's pack files. Players download the packs from the server when they join.

What happens when Minecraft updates?

Bedrock clients only join a server on the same version. We update the server to 1.26.61.1 and follow Mojang's releases; if a player's app is on an older version, updating it from the store fixes the connection.

Minecraft Bedrock server for phones, Windows and friends

Minecraft: Bedrock Edition is the version on phones, tablets, Windows, Xbox, PlayStation and Switch. Its server is the official Bedrock Dedicated Server from Mojang, and that is exactly what we run: no wrapper that lags behind updates, no unofficial port. Your world stays online when the person who created it closes the app, and anyone with the address can drop in.

The server runs version 1.26.61.1. Bedrock clients only connect to a server on the same version, so we update it when Mojang ships a release and your players update the app. Before the first start the panel asks you to accept the Minecraft EULA, as the official server requires. The protocol is UDP, which the panel handles for you: you share an address and a port, and nothing on your router needs to change.

Start a Bedrock server in five steps

Create your account, press «Create server» and choose Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.
Accept the Minecraft EULA when the panel shows it; the server will not start without it.
Set the game mode, the difficulty and, if you have one, the seed of the world you want to generate.
Start the server and copy the address and the port from the panel overview.
In Minecraft open Play, then Servers, then Add Server, paste the address and the port, save and join.

Which devices can join

Phones, tablets and Windows add the server from the Servers tab with the address and port the panel shows. Xbox, PlayStation and Switch cannot: Mojang's help center says console versions are limited to the featured servers. If your group mixes PC Java players with Bedrock, a Java server with the Bedrock bridge may suit you better.

Game rules from the panel

The Game tab covers the game mode (survival, creative or adventure), the difficulty from peaceful to hard, the seed and the player slots, up to 255 within your plan. The view distance, between 4 and 16 chunks, is under Performance in the Server tab. A change applies on the next restart, and the panel tells you when one is needed.

Memory and disk for a Bedrock world

The Bedrock server is written in C++ and is lighter than Java: it starts on 2 GB of RAM and is comfortable on 4 GB with a full group exploring in different directions. A world takes little room at first; 5 GB of disk leaves space for years of building plus backups.

Allowlist, operators and console

Turn the allowlist on and add gamertags from the Players page, so only people you know can join. Operators get commands in game; the console sends say, kick, tp and gamemode without opening Minecraft. Behaviour and resource packs go into their folders through the file manager.

Fixing «Unable to connect to world»

Most connection failures on Bedrock come from a version mismatch: update the app from the store and try again. Check that you typed the port the panel shows, not the default one, because each server has its own. If only some players fail, look at the allowlist on the Players page. When the whole server is unreachable, the console shows whether it finished starting or stopped with an error.
