## Who is behind 1up

## Baurtock

Founder, developer and support

Baurtock is the pseudonym of the founder of 1up-servers. He designs and writes the platform, looks after the game nodes in London and Paris, answers the support tickets and the Discord, and writes the guides on this blog. 1up started from a simple idea: anyone should be able to launch a game server for their friends without renting a machine or reading a manual. Every guide here is written around the same panel he builds every day.

## How 1up works

- ### Where your server runs
  Game servers run on Intel Xeon machines in London and Paris. Each server is a container with its own CPU, RAM and disk limits.
- ### How you pay
  The Free plan gives you 3 hours a day and 30 hours a month, with no card. Paid plans keep your server online around the clock, with more RAM and more slots.
- ### How we look after it
  Paid plans include backups, the public status page shows every incident, and support answers by ticket from the panel and on Discord.

## What we believe

- ### Clear prices
  Each plan states its RAM, slots and hours up front, with no small print.
- ### Free to start
  Anyone can try a server on the Free plan without a card and upgrade only when the group needs it.
- ### No ads from Pro up
  Pro and higher plans show no ads in the panel. Free, Casual and Starter may show them, only if you accept advertising cookies.
- ### Open status
  Incidents and uptime are published on the public status page for anyone to see.
